AW Louvers manufactures and supplied over a thousand multi purpose Louvers for the Ballymore Homes development at their Deanston Wharf project in the Royal Docks area in London.
The Louvers were provided to four blocks and were required to provide natural ventilation whilst also providing a low U Value and high Acoustic sound reduction values.
Our MR34ZGL louvers were supplied complete to site with an insulated panel fitted to the rear and within this insulated panel we installed our Tunal Sus acoustic ventilator to provide controllable air intake combined with a high acoustic performance. The insulated panels, where required, also had a plenum connection installed to connect to the mechanical extract ductwork.
The louvers to three blocks were provided in AkzoNobel 7006 Class 2 powder and plot 1.2, the green facade in the photos, had an Akzo Nobel 7016 Class 2 finish.
These Louvers were tested and the overall Louver/ insulated panel, acoustic vent ” in the open position ” achieved a 48Dnew overall sound reduction and a different combination for Plots 2.1 and 2.2, the red brick in the photos , achieved a 46Dnew overall sound reduction.
